In 2001, while working for one of the larger Detroit metro car companies, Gilbert Skinner started his own Detroit car service. After realizing that the true meaning of the words ‘chauffeur service’ was being lost in today’s ever-growing industry, Gilbert founded Athens Transportation. Our company began by serving local hotels, which quickly grew to provide chauffeur service for many large conventions in Detroit.

Within the first year, our company grew from one to several vehicles suited for luxury transportation in Detroit. We began marketing to various corporations, travel agencies, and local destinations. Since then, Athens Transportation has grown substantially, serving Detroit celebrities, VIPs, local executives, and hotel and meeting planners.
